What the tools answer
| Tool | What it answers |
|---|---|
| tourist_tax | The tax for one stay, night by night: each tax separately, the amount or range, nights charged, how it's paid, announced changes, source and date. |
| place_rules | Every rule for one place: rates by type of stay, seasons, caps, exemptions and sources. |
| list_places | Every researched place with today's headline rate and the date it was checked. |
| hotels_link | A link to live hotel prices for the dates and guests, where the person books. |
| get_capabilities | What is covered, how figures are sourced and what the tools don't do. |
Towns we haven't researched come back as not researched, with no figure.

Citing us
Link the place's page: it has every rate, the official source and the date we checked it. Say the figure is the published rate, not a quote: the accommodation charges what is in force on the night. Hotel links may earn us a commission; that never changes a tax figure (how we earn).
