The Shipwork API

Every free check is a JSON endpoint: send a site, get findings with the page and the fix for each. Use it as a free SEO checker API from scripts, dashboards and AI agents. No key and no signup.

POST /api/audit

Audit a site. Crawls a set of pages from outside the network and runs every check that applies (indexing, robots.txt, sitemap, canonicals, structured data, internal links, AI crawler access and more). Returns findings grouped by check, each with the page and the fix.

POST /api/score

Score a site 0-100. Runs the audit and returns a 0-100 health score, a letter grade, the top fixes and a shareable snapshot id.

POST /api/bulk-status

Status codes for a list of URLs. For each URL: status code, every redirect hop, the final URL, and whether the final page is noindex or canonicalised elsewhere. Up to 25 URLs free.

POST /api/sitemap-generator

Generate an XML sitemap. Crawls a site from its home page and returns sitemap.xml of its indexable pages, with every excluded page and the reason.

GET /api/check/{name}

Run one named check. Runs a single check on one address and returns its findings and the raw data it read.

A site audit crawler API, without a key

Send a URL and the crawl runs server-side: the same checks the website runs, returned as JSON with the page and the fix for each finding. It stays a free JSON API, on the same allowance as the site, so a script can audit a page with no key and no signup.

MCP /mcp

Use Shipwork from an AI assistant. An MCP server over Streamable HTTP with five tools: run_site_audit, score_site, check_url_status, generate_sitemap and run_check. For signed-in accounts: create your personal MCP address and add it as a remote MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. Calls run as your account, with your allowance.
