FAQ

Common questions about what SEO Content Machine does, where it runs and how it publishes.

What is SEO Content Machine?

A desktop SEO workspace with an SEO agent on top. It scans your site, reads your Search Console data and groups pages into topic clusters. The agent then plans which pages to create, refresh or publish next. You approve every page before it goes out.

Who is SEO Content Machine for?

SEO agencies, local SEO businesses and affiliate site owners who already run SEO week after week and publish to WordPress.

Does it run on Mac?

Yes. SEO Content Machine runs on Windows 10 and 11, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux as an AppImage. Your projects stay on your machine.

Does it work with Google Search Console?

Yes. Connect Search Console and SCM pulls clicks, impressions and positions for every page. The agent uses that data to plan new pages and pick pages to refresh, and the history stays in the project so you can see how pages moved after you published.

Can it improve pages that already rank?

Yes. The agent reads each page's Search Console history, picks pages worth refreshing and drafts the update. You review it before it goes live.

How is it different from ZimmWriter or Koala?

ZimmWriter writes articles from a list of keywords you give it. Koala is closer: its agent also reads Search Console and suggests what to publish, but it runs on Koala's servers and writes with Koala's own AI. SCM runs on your machine, so your site data stays with you, and it drafts with the model you choose: SCM AI credits, your own OpenAI, Claude or Gemini key, a local model, or Claude Code through MCP. Your site shows as a tree of topic clusters, and every edit is logged and can be undone.

Can I use my own AI keys or local models?

Yes. Use SCM AI credits, your own keys for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or OpenRouter, or local models through Ollama and LM Studio.

Does it publish to WordPress?

Yes. It publishes through WordPress's own login with an application password, so no plugin is added. The WordPress REST API has to be reachable.

Does it publish without me?

No. The agent proposes pages and you approve each one before it goes live.

Why not just do this in Claude?

If you're new to SEO, starting with Claude is a good way to learn the moving parts. SCM is those parts already built: Search Console, site scan, topic clustering, page planning and WordPress publishing in one place.
