Documentation

The Scribix connector lets Claude work with the videos in your Scribix account. Ask Claude to find the moments worth sharing in a long video, adjust where each clip starts and ends, preview clips right in the conversation, and prepare posts for your connected social accounts. Scribix cuts, reframes and captions your own footage; it does not generate new video, images or audio.

Requirements

  • A Scribix account (sign in with Google). The connector works on every plan, including Free. Clip exports and Scribix AI suggestions use the same allowances as your Scribix plan.
  • Claude on the web, Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps, or Claude Code.
  • To prepare posts, you need a Lite, Starter or Pro plan and your social accounts connected on Scribix. Claude can only prepare drafts; you always publish or schedule them yourself on Scribix.

Connect Scribix

Claude web and Desktop: open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector and enter the server URL https://scribix.io/api/mcp. Sign in to Scribix and approve access on the consent screen. Connectors you add on the web also appear in the Claude mobile apps.

Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http scribix https://scribix.io/api/mcp, then use /mcp to sign in. Claude Code shows results as text instead of the in-conversation preview.

Connecting uses OAuth. Claude receives a one-hour access token and a rotating refresh token; it never receives your password or Scribix website session.

Example: from a long video to scheduled posts

This walkthrough turns one long video, such as a podcast episode, interview or webinar, into short clips and scheduled posts on TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn. You can ask in your own words; the prompts below are examples.

  1. Bring in the video.“Import this video from my Google Drive: <link>”. Claude creates a Scribix project and Scribix transcribes it, which takes a few minutes for a long video. To upload a file from your device instead, ask Claude for the Scribix upload page.
  2. Find the clips.“Find three 30–60 second clips that make sense on their own.” Claude reads the transcript, asks Scribix to rank the strongest moments and creates the clips.
  3. Adjust them.“Start the second clip one sentence later” or “End the first clip after the punchline.” Clips are always cut from your original video.
  4. Render and preview.“Render all three and show me previews.” Scribix exports vertical MP4s with captions, and Claude shows a playable preview in the conversation.
  5. Write and prepare the posts.“Write a TikTok caption, a YouTube title and description, and a LinkedIn post for the first clip, and prepare it for my TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts.” Claude returns a Scribix link with the post prefilled. One post can go to several accounts, including several accounts on the same platform.
  6. Review and schedule on Scribix. Open the link, check the text, choose the platform settings (for example YouTube visibility and whether the video is made for kids), and publish now or schedule it up to 365 days ahead. The link keeps the draft for 24 hours.
  7. Check the result.“Did my post go live?” Claude reports each account's status, the scheduled time and the link to the live post.

What you do on Scribix

Claude does the clipping and writing. A few steps stay with you on the Scribix website:

  • Connecting your TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts.
  • Confirming every post. Claude prepares drafts but never publishes or schedules on its own.
  • Editing caption styles, framing and branding in the clip editor.
  • Uploading files from your device. Claude can import share links but cannot download from YouTube or other streaming sites.

See social publishing for platform limits and how many accounts each plan connects.

What you can ask

  • “Show my Scribix projects.”
  • “Import this video from my Google Drive and find the best clips: <link>”
  • “Find three 30–60 second clips about the main lesson in my latest video.”
  • “Make the first clip start one sentence later.”
  • “Render the best clip and show me a preview.”
  • “Write a YouTube post for this clip.”

Imports accept Google Drive files shared with “Anyone with the link”, Dropbox share links and direct file links to videos you own. Scribix does not download from YouTube or other streaming sites. To upload a file from your device, ask Claude for the Scribix upload page.

Tools

Read-only tools never change your account. Claude asks for your approval before using a tool that creates or changes something in Scribix, unless you choose to always allow it. None of the tools delete data or publish posts.

Read-only

  • list_projects: Lists your video projects with duration, transcript status and clip count.
  • get_transcript: Reads a project's transcript, with timestamps, so Claude can find moments.
  • list_clips: Lists a project's clips and their current start and end times.
  • get_render_status: Checks whether a clip's MP4 is ready and returns a short-lived link.
  • show_clip_preview: Shows a playable clip preview inside the conversation.
  • get_upload_link: Returns the Scribix page where you can upload a video from your device.
  • list_social_accounts: Lists the social accounts you connected in Scribix.
  • get_publish_status: Checks whether a prepared post was published from Scribix.

Create and change

  • import_video: Imports your own video from a Google Drive or Dropbox share link, or a direct file link, into a new project.
  • create_clip: Creates a clip from a time range in the transcript.
  • update_clip: Changes where a clip starts and ends.
  • suggest_clips: Asks Scribix to rank the strongest moments in a transcript as clip candidates.
  • render_clip: Exports a clip as a vertical MP4 cut from your original video, with captions.
  • prepare_post: Prepares a social post draft that you review and publish on Scribix.

Clip preview

After a clip is rendered, Claude can show it in a preview card. You can play the clip, nudge its start or end by a sentence, and open the project on Scribix to edit captions, framing and branding.

Privacy and data

Claude accesses Scribix only when you ask it to use Scribix. Scribix does not read your Claude chat history, memory or other files, and post drafts expire 24 hours after they are prepared. Information Scribix returns to Claude is handled by Anthropic under its privacy policy. See the Scribix privacy policy for what is collected, how long it is kept, and which processors are used.

Disconnect

Remove the connector in Claude, or disconnect Claude from your Scribix account page, which revokes its tokens immediately. Your projects and clips stay in Scribix.

Troubleshooting

  • **Claude asks you to sign in again:**the connection was revoked or expired after 30 days without use. Reconnect from Claude's connector settings.
  • **An import fails:**check that the file is a video you own and that the share link is set to “Anyone with the link”.
  • **A render or suggestion is refused:**your plan's allowance for the period may be used up. Check usage on your billing page.
