“Compare DMart and Reliance Retail over the last 7 days. What moved for each, and what does it mean for a retail decision?”

DMart (Avenue Supermarts) — 4 moves vs 0 the week before, all on 5 Oct 2026:

Results: Q2 revenue up 18.4% YoY, but the stock still fell ~6% as Citi kept a “sell” rating despite the growth. (Moneycontrol)

Stores: Added only 18 stores in H1FY27 vs 17 a year ago — CLSA called the expansion pace “muted.” (NDTV Profit)

Reliance Retail — 1 move vs 0 the week before: Reliance Retail and 7-Eleven ended their India franchise deal, closing most of the ~60 stores after a reported ₹90 crore loss. (ET Small Business)

What it means: DMart is in “growth without conviction” mode — revenue is up, but analysts are penalizing it for slowing store additions, meaning the market is pricing it on expansion velocity, not just sales growth.

Add RetailIntel once:

codex mcp add retailintel --url https://retailintel.in/mcp

Check it:

codex mcp list

You should see:

Ask

  1. Compare DMart and Reliance Retail over the last 7 days. What moved for each, and what does it mean for a retail decision? Copy
  2. Use RetailIntel: what is in this morning’s Indian retail brief? Top 3 moves, one line each on what it means, with the number. Copy
  3. Find the most recent funding news about Zepto and give me the full read: what happened, why it matters, what to watch, the source. Copy

If it answers from memory instead, start your question with “Use RetailIntel:”.
