What is Port OS?

Port OS connects supported devices to AI clients through MCP. Ask for device information, see camera snapshots, and use the controls your devices provide.

Will it work with devices I already own?

Choose your provider in the device catalog. Controls depend on the integration and device model. Each integration shows its availability and setup requirements.

Which AI clients can I connect?

ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, and Gemini CLI support MCP connections. Follow the setup guide for your client; availability and permissions depend on your account.

Do I need to write code?

You can connect a device and an AI client through the website. Developers can also build with the HTTP API and capability interfaces.

What can my AI access?

You authorize the connection with your Port OS account. Token permissions and device access rules determine which devices it can read or control.

Can it keep watching or run tasks later?

Ongoing monitoring and scheduled actions need a supported event or automation setup. Connecting an ordinary chat does not mean your AI is always running.

What happens when I request a camera photo?

A supported camera returns a snapshot to your AI client. Review that client’s data settings before sharing private camera images.

Can I rely on it for appliance or pet safety?

Use Port OS for assistance, not guaranteed supervision or emergency shutoff. Keep your devices’ own safety features in place.
