No API key. An HTTP call without payment returns HTTP 402 and a PAYMENT-REQUIRED header. Pay that challenge, then retry with PAYMENT-SIGNATURE.

MCP clients POST JSON-RPC to /mcp. nova_catalog is free. An unpaid paid tool returns a payment-required tool result, not HTTP 402. The tool runs only after that payment is verified and settled.
