MentorClone

An MCP-accessible mentor service: answers built only from a person's public videos, podcasts and posts, each linked to the exact moment or post.

Documentation

MentorClone

Learn from the people you look up to. In their own words. MentorClone lets you ask a mentor about your situation and get a straight answer built only from what that person actually said, with a link to where they said it (the exact moment for video, the post for articles). Your AI agent can ask the same mentor. Plans start at $19 a month.

Good mentors cost hundreds an hour, and the best ones often don't take calls at all. Most of them already gave their advice away for free, buried in hundreds of hours of video, podcasts and posts. MentorClone is for anyone learning something or working toward a goal who wants that advice for their own situation, and wants to check it. A person asks a mentor in the web app. Their AI assistant or agent (Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients) can ask the same mentor before it acts on the user's behalf.

Subscribers on any plan build private mentors for themselves from someone's public work. The person a mentor is built from is not affiliated with MentorClone and has not reviewed or endorsed its answers. Only MentorClone publishes mentors for everyone. To build one, a subscriber types the person's name; MentorClone searches the web for their blog, podcast, YouTube channel and X account, checks every link, and builds from the ones they tick. A mentor never answers from general knowledge: if the person never covered a question, it says so instead of guessing. Content is in English.

When to use MentorClone

Reach for MentorClone when the job is one of these:

  • Get a mentor's recommendation for a specific situation, with proof. "I'm a solo developer with 40 paying customers. Should I raise prices?" The answer is a direct recommendation drawn from the mentor's own principles, and every claim links to the video moment (timestamped), the podcast episode page, or the post it came from.
  • Guide an agent's decision. Before an agent makes a call on the user's behalf (a pricing page, a plan, a next step), it can ask a mentor and follow cited advice instead of general knowledge.
  • Find what a person actually said about a topic. Search their public videos and posts and get short quotes with URLs, timestamps, and dates.
  • See how a person's view changed over time. Topic pages and timelines list the mentor's claims in date order, each with its evidence.

Do not use MentorClone for general web questions or for advice the person never gave. The mentor will say it has no source rather than guess.

How an agent calls it

MentorClone exposes a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with tools such as list_personas, search, ask, get_topic, and timeline. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients that can send an Authorization header; there is no OAuth sign-in yet, so clients that only support OAuth connectors cannot connect. Access needs a paid plan and an API key: the user signs in at https://mentorclone.ai/auth, creates a key in settings, and copies the install command shown there or on any of their mentor pages. The key is sent as a Bearer token.

Humans can also use the web app at https://mentorclone.ai/app after signing in. The homepage serves this file as Markdown for Accept: text/markdown.

Main Pages

Features

  • Direct recommendations: Describe your situation; the mentor tells you what to do based on the person's principles, not a summary of everything they said.
  • Citations: Each point links to where they said it: the exact video moment (timestamped), the podcast episode page, or the blog post.
  • Honest coverage: When the person never covered a question, the mentor says so.
  • Memory of your situation: The mentor keeps short notes on your goals and situation across conversations. You can view and delete them in settings.
  • Topic pages and timelines: What the mentor believes on a topic, claim by claim, dated, with evidence.
  • MCP access: The same mentors inside Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP client that accepts an API key.
  • Private mentors: On every plan, build a private mentor from someone's public links (blog, podcast, YouTube, X).
  • Chat history and sharing: Past conversations are saved; a conversation can be shared by public link and revoked at any time.

Price

MentorClone is a paid subscription with three plans: Starter at $19 a month (400 questions, 1 private mentor, 1 build a month), Pro at $29 a month (1,200 questions, 3 private mentors, 3 builds a month, ask several mentors at once or have them debate), and Max at $59 a month (4,000 questions, 8 private mentors, 5 builds a month, ask several mentors at once or have them debate). Yearly billing costs 10 times the monthly price. There is no free plan. A new account with a confirmed email can build one mentor (from up to 10 posts and 2 videos) and ask it 5 questions free, without a card; MCP access needs a plan. See https://mentorclone.ai/pricing.
