FAQ
Is there an MCP server for exotic car rentals?
Yes: the CarRentalList MCP server (com.carrentallist/catalog) gives AI assistants the CarRentalList catalog of exotic and luxury cars for rent from independent U.S. companies. It covers 4,046 cars at 213 independent companies in 34 states. The endpoint is https://mcp.carrentallist.com/mcp.
Is the CarRentalList MCP server free?
Yes, it is free and needs no sign-up, account or API key. It is read-only: its 13 tools look things up and never book, change or store anything. Requests are rate-limited per IP address so the server stays fast for everyone.
What data does it have?
It has the exotic and luxury rental cars listed on CarRentalList: 4,046 cars from 213 independent rental companies in 34 U.S. states, with make, model, the published daily rate, the company renting it, its city, contact details and published rental terms. It also has CarRentalList's monthly ranking of the best companies and exotic car news.
Where do the prices come from? Are they estimates?
Every price is the daily rate a rental company publishes on its own website; nothing is estimated. 2,680 of the 4,046 cars have a published daily rate. When a company publishes no price, the answer says "contact for price" instead of guessing.
How fresh is the data?
The catalog is re-read from the companies' websites every week and last changed on 2026-10-21. Every answer carries an as_of date so the assistant can say how current it is.
Can it book a car or check availability?
No: it answers research questions (what is listed, where, and at what published rate) and does not book cars, take payments or show live availability calendars. Booking happens with the rental company; every answer links to the company's page with its phone number and website.
Does it include Hertz, Enterprise or Turo?
No: CarRentalList lists only independent exotic and luxury rental companies, with no national chains such as Enterprise, Hertz, Avis or Sixt and no peer-to-peer apps such as Turo. Every result links to the company's page on carrentallist.com.
Which AI assistants does it work with?
Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol over Streamable HTTP can use it, including Claude, ChatGPT (developer mode), Cursor, Claude Code and VS Code. Add the endpoint URL as a remote (HTTP) server; there is nothing to install.
