Landsight

Look up any New Zealand property from official LINZ records: find an address, and read its parcel, land area, title number and building footprints. Also Landsight's guides and plans. Free remote server, read-only, no account needed.

Documentation

Add Landsight to your AI app and ask about any New Zealand address. Sign in with your Landsight account and the app can open a property’s full report and its development feasibility, on your plan. Or connect with no account for the official record of any address.

With your Landsight account

Server address https://landsight.co.nz/mcp/account

Choose OAuth, or sign in, where the app asks. The app sends you to Landsight to sign in and allow it.

  • Property report: what the report page shows: land, titles and buildings, the zone and its rules, hazards and flooding, stormwater, wastewater and water supply, the ground, the site as it stands, schools in and out of zone, what is nearby and the area’s census figures. Each property is one of your reports for the day, as on the website, within your plan’s daily reports (see Pricing).
  • Development feasibility (Premium): what could be built, from a minor dwelling and subdivision to the schemes the zone allows, each costed with its margin and return, and any what-if you ask for.
  • Everything the open connector does, below.

It only reads. It cannot change anything, or see your saved properties, projects or documents. The rating valuation, and what property websites say of a place, stay on the property’s page. Disconnect an app at any time in Settings.

With no account

Server address https://landsight.co.nz/mcp

Choose no sign-in, or no authentication, where the app asks.

  • Find any New Zealand address in the official LINZ register.
  • Read a property’s open record: council, parcel and land area, title number and kind, building footprints and location.
  • Find and read Landsight’s guides, and its current plans and prices.
  • Link to the property’s page on Landsight for the rest.

Nothing you ask through it is linked to a Landsight account.

Claude

Open Customize, then Connectors. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Landsight, paste a server address and choose Continue. With the account address, Claude then opens Landsight for you to sign in and allow it; with the open one, choose No sign in. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it under Organization settings, Connectors, and each person then connects their own account.

ChatGPT

Open Plugins, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Under Connection, paste a server address. For the account address choose OAuth, and ChatGPT sends you to Landsight to sign in; for the open one choose no authentication. Your plan or workspace decides whether you can add one: a workspace administrator may need to allow it.

Grok

On grok.com, open Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, and paste a server address. Custom connectors are for paid Grok plans; where Grok does not offer to sign in, use the open address. Through xAI’s API, name the open address as a tool:

{
  "model": "grok-4.7",
  "input": "What is the legal description of 96 Vodanovich Road, Te Atatu South?",
  "tools": [
    {
      "type": "mcp",
      "server_url": "https://landsight.co.nz/mcp",
      "server_label": "landsight"
    }
  ]
}

Any other app

Anything that connects to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP can use the open address with no key, or the account address if it supports OAuth sign-in with registration (RFC 7591) and PKCE.

Good to know

  • Address, parcel, title and building data comes from Toitū Te Whenua LINZ under CC BY 4.0. Each section of a report says where it comes from.
  • What comes back is preliminary information, not advice, and an AI app can misread it. Check anything you rely on.
  • What you ask, and what Landsight answers, is read by the AI company that runs the app, under its own terms.
  • Requests are limited, to keep the service fair. See the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
