Five tools

• search_jobs: text query, AI level range, remote, city, company, posting age (up to 20 results per page). With a text query: whole-word search with stemming ("engineer" also matches "engineering", but a fragment like "eng" alone won't), sorted by relevance, and the total is capped at 1,000 (see total_capped in the response).
• latest_ai_jobs: Works on AI and Builds AI jobs posted in the last 24 hours, newest first. Same list as New AI jobs today.
• get_job: full detail of one listing by id or slug.
• market_stats: live distribution by AI level, remote share, top tools.
• list_companies_by_ai_level: companies ranked by the average AI rating of their open roles.
• get_level_definitions: what each of the four levels means.

ChatGPT

Add a connector or custom GPT action pointing at https://jobsbylevel.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication). If your plan doesn't support remote MCP servers yet, use the REST API below instead. It needs no MCP client at all.

REST API

Plain JSON, open CORS, same fields as the MCP tools. No key required.

Query params on /api/v1/jobs: query, ai_level_min, ai_level_max, remote, city, company, posted_within_hours (1 to 168), sort=recent, page. Results are capped at 20 per page. With query: whole-word search with stemming, sorted by relevance, and total is capped at 1,000 (see total_capped in the response). Without query, total is exact.

Fair use and rate limits

Both the MCP server and the REST API are limited to about 60 requests per minute per IP address, tracked in memory. No account, no API key, no personal data is required or collected. Every result carries a canonical jobsbylevel.com/jobs/<slug> URL and a source field, never a direct link to the employer's applicant-tracking system.
