What is Instaport?

Instaport is an AI social investing portfolio tracker for stocks, ETFs, options & crypto, built for self-directed investors. It brings your portfolio, company research, market data, AI intelligence, alerts & the Portside investing community into one place.

What can I do with Free?

Free gives you full access to Portside, detailed stock, ETF, fund & crypto research, charts, news, key financial metrics, dividend analysis, analyst estimates & research on top fund managers & politicians.

You can also track up to 10 manual portfolio positions plus 10 watchlist positions. No card is required.

What does Pro add?

Pro adds connected brokerage & crypto exchange accounts, daily portfolio syncing, advanced AI portfolio intelligence, the AI finance & portfolio agent, Quant, Fair Market Value, company comparisons, options insights, social, market & macro intelligence, alerts & the daily pre-market brief.

Pro also increases your manual portfolio capacity to 50 positions.

Do I need to connect an account?

No. You can research investments, build a manual portfolio, maintain a watchlist & participate in Portside with Free. Connecting brokerage or crypto exchange accounts is a Pro feature for investors who want their actual portfolio positions updated automatically.

Research & intelligence

What research is included with the Free tier?

The Free tier includes company financials, charts, news, key metrics, dividend analysis, momentum, analyst estimates & research across stocks, ETFs, funds & crypto. You can also explore publicly reported investments from leading fund managers & politicians.

What are Quant, Fair Market Value & Compare?

Quant evaluates a stock across key investment factors. Fair Market Value helps you examine valuation using company fundamentals. Compare places multiple companies side by side so you can evaluate the metrics that matter without jumping between pages. All three are included with Pro.

Can I see what hedge funds & politicians are buying?

Yes. Instaport’s Smart Money tracker shows the publicly reported investments of leading fund managers, taken from their 13F filings, and the stock trades that members of Congress disclose. You can see new, increased, reduced and exited positions with their filing dates. It’s included with the Free tier.

What is a 13F filing?

A 13F is a quarterly report that large investment managers — those managing at least $100 million in certain US securities — must file with the SEC. It lists the US-listed stocks and other securities they held at the end of the quarter.

It is filed up to 45 days after the quarter ends, so it shows past positions, not live trades, and it does not include short positions.

How does AI portfolio intelligence work?

Pro lets Instaport use the context of your portfolio alongside its research & data. You can ask about a holding, investigate an opportunity, explore portfolio exposure or examine a risk in language that connects the answer to what you actually own.

What are alerts?

Alerts help you follow important portfolio & market developments without constantly checking the app. You choose the notifications you want to receive, including relevant price, dividend, earnings, options & portfolio activity. Active investment alerts are included with Pro.

What is the daily pre-market brief?

The daily pre-market brief brings together the developments most relevant to your holdings & watchlist before the trading day begins. It is included with Pro.

Your AI assistant

Can I connect ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant to my Instaport portfolio?

Yes, with Instaport Pro.

Claude: find Instaport in Claude’s connector directory and click Connect.

ChatGPT, Muse, Grok & other AI assistants: add Instaport’s connection address, https://mcp.instaport.ai/mcp, as a custom connector.

Either way, you sign in to Instaport, choose what your assistant can see, and approve. You can disconnect any time from Settings.

What can my AI assistant see, and can I turn it off?

Only what you approve. When you connect, you choose which portfolio data & accounts it can read, and dollar values need a separate permission.

The connection is read-only: your assistant can’t place trades or move money. You can disconnect at any time in Settings → MCP connections, and its access stops.

Connected accounts

Are brokerage & crypto exchange connections read-only?

Yes. Instaport can read supported portfolio information so it can organize & analyze your holdings. It cannot place trades, move money or make changes at your financial institution.

Does Instaport see my brokerage password?

No. You authenticate through your financial institution & its secure connection flow. Instaport does not see or store your brokerage username, password or multi-factor authentication codes.

Which brokerages & crypto exchanges are supported?

Instaport supports more than 30 brokerage & crypto exchange connections. Availability can change, so the connection screen shows the current list before you link an account.

How often does my connected portfolio update?

Pro connections sync automatically each day. You can review connection status & the timing of the latest update from your portfolio & connection settings.

Can I disconnect an account?

Yes. You can disconnect through Instaport or revoke access through your financial institution. Instaport will stop receiving new data from that connection.

Portside, verification & privacy

What is Portside?

Portside is Instaport's social finance community. You can share research, discuss investment theses, follow other investors & challenge an idea against evidence. Full participation is included with Free.

What can Portside members see?

Your portfolio is private by default. If you are a verified member & decide to share your performance, Portside members can see only your verified return measured from the first successful sync of your connected account’s positions.

You may separately choose to share your top three positions, shown only by portfolio weight. Sharing performance & sharing positions are both optional. Dollar values, every other position & the identity of your financial institution remain private.

What does verified performance mean?

Your verified performance history starts when your connected account first successfully syncs its positions with Instaport. Returns are measured from that starting point.

Performance is calculated using data from your connected, read-only account. Manual holdings are self-reported & are not included in a shared verified return. Verification confirms the source of the record; it is not an endorsement of an investor or investment.

Does paying improve my ranking or reach?

No. A Pro subscription unlocks connected accounts & advanced intelligence. It does not buy credibility, ranking, visibility or authority within Portside.

Plans & billing

How much does Instaport cost?

Free is $0. Pro is $24.99 billed monthly or $239.88 billed annually—the equivalent of $19.99 per month. The annual plan saves 20% & is shown by default on the pricing page.

Where do I manage my subscription & payment method?

Open Plan & billing in Settings to review your plan, payment method & invoices. Payments are stored & processed securely by Stripe.

Is everything in Free included with Pro?

Yes. Pro includes the complete Free experience, including Portside & company research, then adds connected accounts, advanced portfolio intelligence & every premium tool in one subscription.

Safety & support

Is Instaport investment advice?

No. Instaport provides information, research & analytical tools. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, & it does not place trades. You remain responsible for your own investment decisions.

How do I get help?

Visit our contact page for account, connection, billing or product support. Please never send brokerage passwords or multi-factor authentication codes.
