A LinkedIn MCP server you paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or n8n

HeyReagent is a hosted MCP server for your own LinkedIn account. You sign in once, connect LinkedIn, and give your AI app one address. From then on it can read your inbox, send messages and invitations, search people, and work with posts. It is free to start, and it is not made by LinkedIn.

The address

This is the whole setup: one address, and the steps for your app.

https://api.heyreagent.com/mcp

Claude Signs in to your account. No key.

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Type a name, paste the address, and click Continue.
  4. Keep the sign-in settings Claude found, continue, and click Add. Sign in to HeyReagent when Claude asks.
  5. In a chat, press + at the lower left, then Connectors, to switch it on.

Claude’s own guide, with pictures of each screen.

ChatGPT Signs in to your account. No key.

  1. Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button, type a name and a description, enter the address, and create the connection.
  3. Sign in to HeyReagent when ChatGPT asks.
  4. In a chat, choose Developer mode from the plus menu and select it.

ChatGPT’s own guide, which says which accounts have developer mode.

Muse Uses your key.

  1. Send Muse the message below, as it is.
  2. Muse answers with a card for the connector. Press Connect on it, then Continue, and paste your key in the form. The key goes there, not in the chat.
  3. Muse asks whether it may share information with api.heyreagent.com. “Always allow this site” stops it asking before every request. “Allow once” allows the next one only.
  4. Muse lists the actions and runs the check. Then ask it for what you want.
Create a custom connector called HeyReagent for my LinkedIn. It is a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP at https://api.heyreagent.com/mcp. Every request needs the header "Authorization: Bearer" followed by my key. Ask me for the key in your secure form, not in this chat. Then list its tools and run get_my_profile to check that it works.

Meta’s own page on connectors, custom ones included.

Claude Code Uses your key.

  1. Run this in a terminal, with your own key where it says YOUR_KEY.
claude mcp add --transport http heyreagent https://api.heyreagent.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"

Cursor Uses your key.

  1. Put this in.cursor/mcp.json in your project, or in ~/.cursor/mcp.json to have it everywhere, with your own key where it says YOUR_KEY.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "heyreagent": {
      "url": "https://api.heyreagent.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

n8n Uses your key.

  1. Add an MCP Client Tool node to your agent.
  2. Endpoint: the address above. Server Transport: HTTP Streamable.
  3. Authentication: Bearer Auth, with your key.

What your AI app can do with it

There are 97 actions: 92 on the free and Connect plans, and 5 more on Agent. By area: Profile (5), Network (9), Messages (27), InMail (5), Search (17), Posts (11), Sales Navigator (1), Recruiter (4), Jobs (10), Insight (4), Account (4). A few of the ones people reach for first:

  • who_is_waiting_on_me List the people whose last message you have not answered.
  • list_conversations List the conversations in the stored copy of your inbox, across your accounts.
  • send_message Send one message to a 1st-degree connection, or into an existing conversation, now.
  • send_invitation Send one connection invitation, now.
  • search_people Search people on ordinary LinkedIn by plain words, a place name and connection degree.
  • get_recent_posts Read one person's latest posts, through a shared account.
  • comment_on_post Comment on one post, or answer one comment on it.
  • who_went_cold List the conversations that went quiet.

Every action, with its inputs and what comes back.

Why a hosted one

A widely used LinkedIn MCP server on GitHub (3.7 thousand stars when we looked) works through a browser on your own computer. Its page says it connects your AI app to LinkedIn "through your own logged-in browser session", and that "all browser actions run locally on your machine". Its README. That is free and it is yours, and it has two costs: it runs only while your computer does, and when the session ends you log in again.

A hosted server is an address. There is nothing to install or keep running, the sign-in is kept for you, and it works from apps that cannot reach a program on your laptop. That is the reason people search for a "LinkedIn MCP server URL": they want something to paste.

Limits that are built in

Each LinkedIn account has a daily limit for each kind of action. An action past its limit is refused, with the time it resets. Reading your conversations is not limited.

WhatA day
Invitations sent30
Invitations accepted or declined100
Invitations taken back100
Messages sent100
InMails sent40
Messages edited, deleted or reacted to, and conversations deleted100
Comments on posts40
Reactions to posts40

All the limits.

What it costs

Free, $0Every Connect action. LinkedIn is disconnected after an hour without use, so it is for working live.
Connect, $29.99 a monthThe same actions with LinkedIn kept connected, so scheduled workflows run.
Agent, $499 a monthIt runs LinkedIn for you: answers your inbox in your voice, follows up, and finds who to talk to. You approve what it sends.

Questions

Is this the official LinkedIn MCP server?

No. LinkedIn has not published an MCP server, and HeyReagent is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. It is an independent service that acts on your own LinkedIn account, at your direction.

Is it free?

Yes, to start. The free plan has every action the Connect plan has, with one difference: LinkedIn is disconnected after an hour without use, and 12 hours after connecting at the latest. That suits working live in a chat. A workflow that runs on a schedule needs the Connect plan, at $29.99 a month, which keeps LinkedIn connected.

Do I have to install anything?

No. It is an address. Nothing runs on your computer, so it also works in apps that live in a browser, such as Claude and ChatGPT on the web.

Does it work with Sales Navigator and Recruiter?

There are actions for both. They run on your own LinkedIn account, so the account needs that product.

Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?

LinkedIn’s User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.

HeyReagent is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn. LinkedIn's own terms apply to your account. What this page says about other products was read on their own pages on 5 October 2026.
