Fuel prices for AI agents (MCP)

The Official Fuel Prices API can be used as a tool by any MCP-compatible AI client through the hosted Apify MCP server. The agent passes coordinates and a fuel type and gets back the cheapest or nearest stations with prices.

When an agent should use this tool

  • The user asks for current fuel, petrol, gasoline, diesel, LPG or CNG prices in France, Spain, Italy or Western Australia.
  • The user wants the cheapest or nearest fuel station around a location (the agent must provide coordinates).
  • A workflow needs station-level fuel prices as structured JSON.

Example prompts

  • “Find the 5 cheapest diesel stations within 5 km of 48.8566, 2.3522.”
  • “What does unleaded 95 cost near the centre of Valencia today?”
  • “List the nearest LPG stations to Perth CBD with their prices.”

Tips for reliable tool calls

  • Always pass fuelTypes and a small maxResults — the price is per row.
  • Pass coordinates, not place names: there is no geocoding.
  • Read currency and unit before comparing prices across countries.

Pricing: pay per use on Apify — $0.005 per run plus $0.0005 per price row ($0.50 per 1,000). A "cheapest 10 stations near a point" query costs about $0.01. You set maxResults, so you only pay for the rows you ask for.
