Keep the video tool you already use
Your agent builds the video in whatever your project already uses, and FrameJam reviews the rendered mp4. Nothing gets converted to another tool.
- Hyperframes is the default for new projects. Most playbooks start there, like the one to make a SaaS launch video.
- Remotion and Motion Canvas projects keep their tool. The playbooks follow the same method in them, for example to make a narrated explainer video.
- Manim, the library behind 3Blue1Brown's videos, runs the math animation playbook.
- ffmpeg handles straight edits of your recordings, like when you remove silence from a video.
- Screen recordings and camera footage go in as they are. Turn a phone take into YouTube Shorts with AI, or see the whole loop in how to edit videos with Claude.

Questions
What does it cost?
Nothing. FrameJam is free, local and open source under the MIT license. No account needed. The code is on GitHub.
Can Claude edit my videos?
Yes. With FrameJam installed, Claude makes or edits the video, opens it for review, and you comment on exact frames until it's right. The guide How to edit videos with Claude shows the whole thing, with a video walkthrough.
Do I need Hyperframes?
No. FrameJam reviews videos from any tool. Your agent opens the mp4 and you give feedback on exact frames and times. Hyperframes is the default way to build. Styles are looks your agent applies to whatever your video is about, in any tool.
How does my agent talk to FrameJam?
Through the FrameJam plugin for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. It gives your agent the skill and a local MCP server with tools to pick styles, open reviews and wait for your feedback. Any other agent that supports MCP can use the server too. See the MCP tools.
Does it work with any video?
Yes, any mp4 from any tool: Hyperframes, Remotion, Motion Canvas, ffmpeg, screen recordings or camera footage. You always review the rendered file.
Where does my work go?
Nowhere. It stays in ~/.framejam on your computer.
Can I contribute?
Yes. Bug reports, ideas and pull requests are welcome on GitHub. A star helps more people find it.
Where can I get help or share what I made?
In the free FrameJam Discord. Ask questions, show your videos, ask for styles and features, and hear about new ones first.
