MCP server

Give your AI assistant the whole DocuGrip toolbox. It finds the right tool for what you describe and hands you the link — your document never reaches it.

What it is

MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is how an AI assistant talks to tools outside itself. DocuGrip runs a small MCP server: your assistant asks it which PDF tool fits a task, and it answers.

You do not have to know any of that to use it. Once it is connected, you just describe what you need in your own words and your assistant sends back the page that does it.

What your assistant can do with it

Seven things: list every live tool, find the tool that matches a task, plan a job with several steps, look up one tool by name, show the current plans and prices, give the official upload size limit for portals such as IRCC, USCIS or Gmail, and find official forms such as W-9 or I-130 with their current edition.

The search takes plain language, not keywords. "Combine two contracts", "my scan has no searchable text", "turn these photos into a PDF", "get this under 2 MB" — all of those land on the right tool. Ask what DocuGrip costs and you get the same prices as the pricing page.

Your file never reaches the server

This is the part worth reading twice. The server knows the catalog and nothing else. It never receives a document and never opens one.

Every answer it gives is a link. You open it, and your document is handled in that page without being transmitted — the same way every tool on this site works.

Many PDF connectors need your document uploaded to a service before anything can happen. With DocuGrip, the assistant only ever gets links.

Connecting it

The server address is https://docugrip.com/api/mcp — no API key and no account.

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste the address. In Cursor, VS Code or another MCP client, add a remote server of type http with the same address. In ChatGPT, custom connectors are available in developer mode under Settings, Apps & Connectors. In Gemini, add it as a custom app under Connected apps. In Perplexity, add a custom connector under Settings, Connectors. In Microsoft Copilot Studio, add it to an agent as an MCP tool.

After that, just ask: "IRCC rejected my file, make it fit", "where do I fill in a W-9?" or "which DocuGrip plan do I need?".

For developers

Seven read-only tools: list_pdf_tools, find_pdf_tool, plan_pdf_job, get_pdf_tool, get_plans, get_upload_requirements and find_official_form. The transport is Streamable HTTP at https://docugrip.com/api/mcp, with no API key, no account and no OAuth step.

Both find_pdf_tool and get_upload_requirements take plain language, and a batched request can carry up to 20 calls. Every answer carries a link that opens the matching page, ready to use.
