Claude and ChatGPT (MCP)
Use GammaFlip data from an AI assistant: connect once, sign in, ask in plain words
GammaFlip has a remote MCP server. Add it to Claude or ChatGPT as a connector, sign in with your GammaFlip account, and the assistant can read the same data this API serves. There is no API key to create. GammaFlip is listed in Claude's connector directory and in ChatGPT's plugin directory, so in either app you can search for it by name. The server URL is only needed to add it by hand.

Claude and ChatGPT, the example prompt, and what the assistant can and cannot do.
Connect
[tab] Claude
- Open Customize → Connectors → Discover and search for GammaFlip, or open the listing directly.
- Click Connect to Claude.
- Sign in with your GammaFlip account and click Allow.
If the directory is turned off for your organization, add it by URL instead: Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector, name it GammaFlip, paste the server URL, keep the detected settings, click Add, then Connect.
[tab] Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http gammaflip https://mcp.gammaflip.io/mcpThen run
/mcpand authenticate.
[tab] ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in the sidebar and search for GammaFlip, or open the listing directly.
- Add it, sign in with your GammaFlip account and click Allow.
If the plugin directory is hidden in your workspace, add it by URL instead: Settings → Plugins → Browse directory → Add → Add custom MCP server, name it GammaFlip, paste the server URL, choose OAuth, confirm and click Create as a plugin, then Continue to GammaFlip, sign in and click Allow. A server you added this way earlier keeps working.
Menu names in both apps change from time to time. Search the directory for GammaFlip in either app; elsewhere the server URL is the only thing you need.
Access and limits
Access follows the same rule as the API: any plan or trial that includes API access, for the markets in that plan. Requests share your daily quota with the REST API. The lookups marked "No" below are free.
Tools
All tools are read-only. Each one wraps an API endpoint and returns the same JSON, so the data dictionary applies unchanged.
| Tool | Endpoint | Counts against the quota |
|---|---|---|
get_levels | /levels, with compare | Yes |
get_gex_by_strike | /gex/by-strike-enhanced | Yes |
get_term_structure | /gex/term-oi | Yes |
get_levels_history | /history/levels | Yes |
get_snapshot_at | /history/snapshot | Yes |
list_symbols | /exchanges + /coins + /me | No |
list_expirations | /expirations | No |
get_history_coverage | /history/coverage | No |
get_account | /me | No |
Not available through MCP: history file downloads (/history/files),
chart images, alerts, and anything that changes your account.
Errors
Plan, market and quota problems come back as a tool error with a plain explanation, not as a sign-in prompt:
- "Does not have an active plan or trial": the account has no API access.
- "The … market is not included in this account's plan": the symbol is outside your plan.
- "Daily request limit … has been reached": the quota resets at midnight UTC.
- "Temporarily unavailable": try again in a minute.
For anything the assistant gets wrong about a symbol or a parameter, the tool error repeats the API's own message; see Errors.
