ClipUGC
AI influencer studio for app founders: design an AI influencer once, then make UGC videos, photos and story series with the same face from your agent.
Hosted MCP Server
npx add-mcp 'https://clipugc.com/mcp'Installs into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and more
Documentation
UGC videos, straight from Claude Code
ClipUGC runs as an MCP server. Add it to Claude Code or Cursor and your agent creates the influencer, makes the video and downloads the file.
Free credits. API keys come with a paid plan.
Set it up
Log in once. The server reads the same key the CLI uses, so every client below shares it. No key yet?
npm install -g clipugc
clipugc auth login
Claude Code
One line registers the server. Claude Code starts it when you open a session.
claude mcp add clipugc -- npx -y clipugc@latest mcp
Want the skills too?
The plugin adds three skills. clipugc drives the tools in plain words, ugc-director turns an app idea into a video plan, persona-account runs an ongoing AI creator account.
/plugin marketplace add clipugc/ClipUGC-CLI
/plugin install clipugc@ClipUGC-CLI
/clipugc:clipugc how many credits do I have left
/clipugc:persona-account create an AI influencer for a fitness account

What the twelve tools do
Each one mirrors a CLI command and takes the same arguments, with underscores instead of dashes. The ones that make something return a job id right away; the agent polls until it is done.
Makes something
| Tool | What it does | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| create_character | Describe a person in plain words. She gets her first photo right away. | 2 credits |
| generate_image | A new photo of her in a new place or outfit. Same face every time. | 2 credits per shot |
| create_clip | Turns a photo into a 5 or 10 second video. Add a scene and she is staged there first. | 7 or 13 credits 9 or 15 with a scene |
| create_motion_clip | She copies the moves from a video you upload, up to 30 seconds. | 3 credits per second 2 per second with engine wan |
| create_scene_replace_clip | Puts her into a video you filmed, in its own room and light, up to 30 seconds. Carries an "AI generated" label. | 3 credits per second |
| merge_ad | Puts your app recording and a hook line on a finished clip. Music is optional. | Free |
Free
| Tool | What it does | |
|---|---|---|
| list_characters | Your influencers, the public ones, or both in one feed. | Read-only |
| list_images | Her photos with their status. Also how the agent waits for a photo to finish. | Read-only |
| get_video | Status of a clip or a finished video. The tool the agent polls. | Read-only |
| download_video | Saves a finished clip or video as an mp4 wherever you say. | Writes a file |
| get_credits | Your balance and the live price of every action. | Read-only |
| list_hooks | Hook line ideas for your app. | Read-only |
Prices are duration-aware and a failed job refunds exactly what it charged. The CLI has the same list under clipugc mcp. Full command reference
Or connect to the hosted server
The same tools, served from clipugc.com. You sign in with your ClipUGC account once, the client keeps a token, and every video spends your own credits. No API key, no install. Paste your App Store or Play link in the chat and first_videos makes three finished videos for it, free.

What a connected client can do: exactly the tools below, as you, with your credits. It cannot change your password, email, plan or payment details. Tokens expire after an hour and renew on their own; you can end a connection from your account at any time.
Get an API key
- 1 Sign up and pick Professional or Business. Keys come with the paid plans.
- 2 Open Dashboard, then API Keys, and create one. It is shown once, so copy it.
- 3 Run clipugc auth login and paste it. Or set CLIPUGC_API_KEY in your client config. Open API Keys

Then say what you want
Paste this into Claude Code. It checks the balance, picks the photo, makes the clip, waits, adds your recording and saves the file.
Use the clipugc tools. Check my credits first. Find my character Ida and her newest photo. Make a 5 second clip from that photo: eyebrows lift, a slow grin, no talking. Wait until it is done, then put ./screenrec.mp4 and the hook "this app fixed my mornings" on it, and download the finished video to ./videos/ida-mornings.mp4.
Behind it: get_credits, list_characters, list_images, create_clip, get_video every few seconds, merge_ad, download_video. 7 credits for the clip, nothing for the rest.

Questions people ask
No. Same credits, same prices. A photo is 2 credits and a 10 second video is 13 whether Claude asks for it or you click in the studio. get_credits shows the live prices.
Yes. npx -y clipugc@latest mcp downloads and starts the server on its own. You need Node.js 20 or newer. Give it your key with a CLIPUGC_API_KEY env block in the client config, and skip the install.
To your account, in the same Videos tab you see in the studio. The server and the studio share one account. download_video saves a copy to the path you name.
No. The server runs on your machine and sends the key only to clipugc.com with each request. It lives in ~/.config/clipugc/config.json or in your client config, and you can revoke it from the API Keys page any time.
API keys come with Professional and Business. Professional is $14.99 a month for 150 credits, which is about 11 videos.
Everything else is answered on the main FAQ.
One line, then ask for a video
Try the studio free first. When you want your agent to do the clicking, an API key comes with Professional.
