Carrier Ledger

Looks up U.S. motor carriers and freight brokers in public FMCSA records by USDOT or MC number, citing the FMCSA dataset for each fact. Checks up to 25 carriers at once and lists suspension and revocation notices FMCSA served in the last 14 days. Free, read-only remote MCP server, no sign-up. Not affiliated with FMCSA; not a carrier rating.

Know the day a carrier's FMCSA record changes.

You booked the carrier in good faith. Then its insurance got cancelled, its authority was suspended, or someone swapped its phone and email to steal your load. Carrier Ledger watches the FMCSA record of every carrier you use and tells you the day it changes, with the government source for every fact.

Free lookups, no account needed. 953 suspension notices served by FMCSA in the last 14 days, from FMCSA's Motus RevokeSuspend - All With History file.

What we catch

Suspension notices before they bite

FMCSA serves notice weeks before an authority is suspended, usually because insurance lapsed. The snapshot still says "Active" until the day it happens. We show the notice and the date it takes effect.

Phone and email swaps

Load thieves take over a real carrier by changing the contact details on its FMCSA record, then book freight as that company. We log every change to a watched carrier's phone, email and address, and flag it for 30 days.

Insurance and bonds

Liability insurance below the federal minimum, cancellations filed by the insurer, brokers with no $75,000 bond on file. Checked every day.

Look-alike companies

The same phone, email or street address on other USDOT numbers, and FMCSA's own link to previously revoked companies: the usual signs of a carrier reborn under a new name.

A dated record for every load

One click saves what FMCSA showed about a carrier at the moment you booked: authority, insurance, notices, the contact details on file and every contact change we've seen, with the old and new values and dates. It gets a permanent link you can print or file with the load. Free with an account.

How it works

  1. Paste your carrier list. USDOT or MC numbers, straight from a spreadsheet column.
  2. We read every FMCSA record the day FMCSA publishes it: census, authority, insurance, suspension notices, process agents.
  3. You hear about changes, not about everything. The first check is a quiet baseline; after that you get only what changed.

Hauling for brokers? Watch them too

Brokers you're owed money by

Every broker's $75,000 bond is what carriers claim against when it doesn't pay. We list brokers with a bond cancellation filed every day, name the surety, and alert you the day a broker on your list has one. Add a note of your open invoices and it shows in the alert. How bond claims work

Your own authority

FMCSA's new Motus system has wrongly marked some carriers inactive in 2026. Watch your own USDOT number and hear the day your status, BOC-3 or insurance filing changes, before a broker or an inspector does. Check yours

For your TMS and AI assistants

Pro and Team include a JSON API (GET /api/v1/carriers/<USDOT>) and webhooks for your TMS. AI assistants such as Claude can use Carrier Ledger directly through its free, read-only MCP server at https://carrier-ledger.neoaethel.workers.dev/mcp (look up a carrier, check a list, read recent suspension notices; no contact details). It is listed in the official MCP Registry.

Plain about what it is

Carrier Ledger copies public FMCSA records and tells you when they change. It is not a carrier rating and not a vetting decision; it gives your team the facts faster. Carriers can use it too, to check that a broker's authority and bond are in place.
