Use SendShort in Claude, ChatGPT and Grok Bot

Connect SendShort to your AI agent with one MCP server URL. Paste a YouTube link in the chat, and the agent makes shorts with captions and can schedule them to TikTok and YouTube. From Professional ($29/month).

Server URL (Streamable HTTP)

Registry name ai.sendshort/sendshort. Local npm package sendshort-mcp (stdio, needs SENDSHORT_API_KEY).

Connect your AI agent

In SendShort, open Settings → Preferences → Connect your AI agent. It has a tab for Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude Code, Codex and Other, with the same steps as this table. The first time an app connects with OAuth, a SendShort page opens. Sign in, check the app name, and click Allow.

Steps

Claude (web, Desktop)

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the URL, click Connect, then click Allow on the SendShort page.

ChatGPT

Settings → Apps & Connectors. Create a connector with the URL and OAuth, then click Allow. Custom connectors can need developer mode.

Claude Code

Run the command below. Then type /mcp, select sendshort and choose Authenticate.

Codex

Run the command below. Then run codex mcp login sendshort and sign in.

Grok (Grok Bot)

Run the command below with your API key. Then run grok mcp doctor sendshort to check the connection.

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (below). Cursor asks you to sign in the first time you use it. There is no one-click install.

VS Code

Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json in your project (below).

Sign-in and access

• OAuth (recommended). The app opens a SendShort page. You sign in and click Allow. You do not copy a key.
• API key. Send an ss_sk_… key in the Authorization: Bearer header. Never put the key in the URL.
• Disconnect. Settings → Preferences → Connected apps → Disconnect.

The agent can only do what you ask, with the access you approved. Read the privacy policy.

Not in MCP: no tool makes slideshows, faceless videos or AI avatars. Make them in the app. Agents can list and schedule slideshows that exist.

• Quotas: your plan's shorts, music videos, Credits and long-video slots (up to 8 long videos at a time) apply, the same as in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI agents work with SendShort?

Claude, ChatGPT and Grok Bot work with SendShort, and so do Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and VS Code. Any other app that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the server URL and an API key.

Which plan do I need for the SendShort MCP server?

You need Professional ($29/month) or Business. Starter does not include the AI Agent. See pricing.

Do I need an API key?

Not for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. They sign in with OAuth: a SendShort page opens and you click Allow. Grok Bot and other apps use an ss_sk_… API key in the Authorization: Bearer header. Never put the key in the URL.

Can the AI agent make slideshows, faceless videos or AI avatars?

No. No MCP tool makes slideshows, faceless videos or AI avatars. Make them in the SendShort app. The agent can list your slideshows and schedule them to TikTok as photo posts.

Where does the agent post my videos?

To your connected TikTok and YouTube accounts. For other platforms, download the short and post it yourself.

How do I stop an AI agent from using my account?

In SendShort, go to Settings → Preferences → Connected apps and click Disconnect. To stop an API key, delete it in Settings → Preferences → API keys.
