Documentação
Ask an AI assistant about a fragrance and it answers from whatever it found on the web, which for this subject means retailer marketing and affiliate blogs. ScentVerdict runs a Model Context Protocol server, so you can point your assistant at our catalogue instead and get answers from data we hold and review ourselves.
The endpoint
https://scentverdict.com/mcp
Streamable HTTP, read-only, no account and no API key. It is free to use.
How to connect
Claude
Open Customize, then Connectors, then the plus button, then Add custom connector, and paste the endpoint above. Works on Free (one custom connector), Pro and Max. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds it once under Organization settings, then Connectors, and everyone else connects to it from their own Connectors list.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http scentverdict https://scentverdict.com/mcp
ChatGPT
Custom connectors need a paid plan and developer mode. Open Settings, then Connectors, then turn on Developer mode under Advanced. Add a custom connector with the endpoint above, then pick it from the plus menu in a chat. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin turns developer mode on for the workspace first.
Anything else
Any MCP client that supports remote servers over streamable HTTP will connect, including Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Perplexity. Point it at the same URL.
What it can answer
Six tools, all read-only:
- Look up a fragrance - notes, our verdict, concentration, launch year and the lowest current price for a full-size bottle where you are, in the shop's own currency.
- Search by name - resolves a partial or misspelled name to real catalogue entries, with concentration and launch year so flankers and reformulations can be told apart.
- Find similar fragrances - scored matches from our own similarity engine, steered if you want them cheaper, fresher, longer lasting, stronger or less sweet.
- Recommend fragrances - filtered on season, occasion, budget, strength, staying power and a note you like.
- Compare two fragrances - shared notes, differing notes and both verdicts, side by side.
- Scent profile and drydown - opening, heart and base phases, the notes in each, and an estimate of how many hours each note persists.

Ask in whichever assistant you already use. The answer comes from the same catalogue
Try asking
- What is a good cheaper alternative to Tom Ford Black Orchid?
- What is Baccarat Rouge 540 and is it worth the money?
- Recommend something for winter that works in an office, under 80 pounds.
- How does Dior Sauvage develop over the day?
- Dior Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel, which suits an evening out?
- He wears Aventus. What else would he like?
What it returns
- Published catalogue entries only, from 31,000+ fragrances.
- Prices are for full-size bottles for your country, in the shop's own currency, with the price per millilitre alongside. When no shop in your country sells a bottle, the price comes from a shop abroad that delivers to you, and says so. Samples and decants are excluded, so a small bottle cannot pose as a bargain. Your country comes from the assistant: tell it where you are if its answer says the prices are for another one. Without one, prices are for the United Kingdom.
- Verdicts and similarity scores are ours. They are written and reviewed here rather than gathered from search results.
- When we do not hold something, the tools say so and suggest close matches rather than inventing an answer.
- No purchase links, and nothing the assistant can change. Every tool reads.
Privacy
The connector needs no account, so nothing you ask is tied to a ScentVerdict profile. Requests do reach us as ordinary web traffic and are logged the same way every other request to the site is, which includes the connecting IP address and the client name. We also record which tool was called and what it was given, such as a fragrance name or a budget, so we can see which fragrances people ask about that we do not yet hold. With it we keep the assistant's name and user agent, which say which software made the call, and the country the prices were for. That record is stored without the IP address or any account. Your assistant sends us only those details, never the conversation. Our full privacy policy applies.
