See it in action

Two requests handed to Codex, one for guest spots and one for podcast ads. It picks the searches, reads the episodes and show notes it needs, and comes back with an answer you can act on.

Codex CLI asked for six English startup podcasts that booked a guest in the last 30 days, biggest first: it makes 18 Grep.FM calls, answers with a table of Apple ratings, guest frequency, two recent guests and an episode to mention in a pitch, and saves the shows to a list

A real Codex CLI run: 18 Grep.FM calls, then one table and a saved list. Tool calls are grouped; the words are unedited. A real Codex CLI run: 32 Grep.FM calls, reading the show notes for offers. Tool calls are grouped; the words are unedited.

What it can do

10 tools over 3,585,865 podcasts and 141,445,350 episodes. The AI picks them on its own as it works through your request, and every search comes with a link that opens the same results in Grep.FM.

Limits

  • Contact emails come out of your monthly export quota, the same one CSV exports use: 10,000 shows on Pro and 50,000 on Team. Each show counts once in 30 days, and shows without an email cost nothing.
  • The AI reads up to 200 results per search. Open the search link it gives you to see or export every result in Grep.FM.
  • Up to 120 requests a minute per account, far more than a conversation needs.
  • The AI can add shows to your lists but never removes or deletes anything.

Questions

Which plans include it?

Pro and Team. On the Free and Starter plans, signing in from your AI app ends at an upgrade page instead of connecting. Your AI app has its own rules too: Claude's custom connectors need a paid Claude plan, and ChatGPT needs developer mode turned on.

What can the AI see and change?

It searches the same podcast, episode and chart data you see in Grep.FM, and reads your lists. The only change it can make is adding shows to a list. It can't remove shows, delete lists, export files or change your account.

Do contact emails count toward my quota?

Yes, the monthly export quota that CSV exports use: each show whose emails come back counts once in 30 days. Shows without an email cost nothing, and searches, show details, episodes and reviews never count.

Why did my connection stop working?

Each account keeps one connection each for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor's cloud agents, and one for a local app such as Codex, Claude Code or Cursor. Connecting the same kind of app again, from another device or another person, ends the earlier connection, and so does disconnecting the app in Settings. When the plan ends the app stays connected, but its searches ask you to renew until you do.

How do I disconnect?

In Grep.FM, open Settings, then AI connector: it lists every connected app with a Disconnect button, which ends its access at once. Then remove Grep.FM from the app's connector or MCP settings.
