What you need first
- A free FeedMyCart account. You'll get your list straight away; you can invite household members later in the app.
- Claude, or ChatGPT on your computer via chatgpt.com.
- This connector URL:
https://www.feedmycart.nl/boodschappen/api/v1/mcpCopy
Don't have an account yet? You can create one along the way: when connecting, FeedMyCart asks you to log in or create an account, and then you carry on where you left off. Prefer to have a look around first? Open the app first. Open the app →
Connecting in Claude
- In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it FeedMyCart and paste the connector URL.
- Click Connect. A FeedMyCart page will open: log in and choose Allow.
- Turn FeedMyCart on in a conversation (via + or the tools menu) and ask your question.
Connecting in ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com on your computer. You can't add a custom connector in the ChatGPT app on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Apps → Create, name it FeedMyCart, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth as authentication.
- A FeedMyCart page will open: log in and choose Allow.
- Choose FeedMyCart in a new conversation and ask your question.
Custom connectors aren't available on every ChatGPT plan, and not everywhere with write access. Can't see Developer mode, or can't ChatGPT add anything to your list? That's down to your ChatGPT plan, not FeedMyCart.
What you can ask
- “What's on our grocery list?”
- “Add milk, two cucumbers and coffee pods to the list.”
- “Which coffee is on offer this week at my shops?”
- “What in my pantry is going off this week? Come up with a recipe using it.”
- “How do I add my loyalty card in FeedMyCart?”
Via the assistant
- Read and add to your list, for the whole household
- Read your pantry, including use-by dates
- Look up this week's deals at your shops
- Explain how something in the app works, with a direct link
In the app itself
- Add loyalty cards: the camera reads the barcode
- Scan receipts and tick them off
- Recipes and a weekly menu
- Invite household members, settings and which shops you follow
Your list, your permission
- The assistant only sees the household you choose when connecting. You can also see which account you're logged in with there.
- Whatever the assistant puts on the list gets the label 'via AI', so everyone in the household recognises it.
- You can revoke it at any time in the app via More → Integrations, or in your assistant itself.
Technical details of the MCP server
- Connector URL of the MCP server: https://www.feedmycart.nl/boodschappen/api/v1/mcp (Streamable HTTP).

- Listed in the official MCP Registry as nl.feedmycart/feedmycart.
- Works with any MCP client that supports OAuth, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Home Assistant.

Questions about connecting
Do I need an account and a list first?
You need a free FeedMyCart account. If you don't have one yet, you create it while connecting; your list comes with it straight away. You can invite household members afterwards in the app.
Does it cost anything?
No. The connection is part of Pro, which you're currently using for free within fair use; a Pro plan is coming in 2027. Sharing your grocery list stays free.
I've connected the wrong account or household. How do I switch?
Revoke the connection via More → Integrations and reconnect in your assistant. On the consent page you'll see which account you're logged in with, with a button for a different account, and you choose the household.
Can the assistant add my loyalty cards or receipts?
No, you do that in the app: that's where the camera reads the barcode or scans the receipt itself. The assistant can explain how it works and give you the link.
Does it also work with other assistants?
Yes, with any assistant that supports connectors (MCP) with login, such as Home Assistant. For Zapier, Telegram, Grok or a Custom GPT, create a personal key in the app via More → Integrations.
Can the assistant access my password or other data?
No. You log in on FeedMyCart's own page; the assistant only gets access to the list, the pantry and the deals of the household you choose. You can revoke that access at any time.
