The TPS MCP server.

What your agent can do

• Screen up to 1,000 UK numbers per call against the TPS and CTPS registers (13.5 million and 1.1 million numbers).
• Wash Australian numbers against ACMA's Do Not Call Register.
• Find disconnected mobiles before a dialler wastes time on them.
• Check its own balance, and buy more credits through a Stripe Checkout link that a person pays.

Tools

• screen_numbers: Screen UK numbers against the TPS and CTPS registers.
• wash_au_numbers: Wash Australian numbers against the Do Not Call Register.
• check_dead_numbers: Live mobile network (HLR) lookups: live, switched off or dead.
• get_account: The account's balances and company name.
• set_company_name: Set the legal name of the business the account screens numbers for.
• buy_credits: Returns a Stripe Checkout payment link for a named pack. A person pays it by card; the tool charges nothing. The credits land on the connected account.

Connect Claude

Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile connect with OAuth: you sign in to your TPSClear account once and approve the connection, with no API key to copy. Any Claude plan can add it.

1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
2. Name it TPSClear and enter the URL https://tpsclear.co.uk/api/mcp. Under Authentication choose Sign in when needed, and under OAuth client choose Register automatically.
3. In a chat, turn TPSClear on from +, then Connectors, and ask something like “Screen 07700 900123 against the TPS”.
4. The first time, Claude shows a Connect button. Sign in with the email address on your TPSClear account (we email you a link) or paste an API key, then approve. Claude repeats the call and carries on.

Screening draws on the account's prepaid credits, the same balance as the API and Zapier. To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude, or revoke the “Claude connector (OAuth)” key at tpsclear.co.uk/account.

Voll Studios Ltd, the company behind TPSClear, is licensed by the DMA as a TPS and CTPS list cleaner. Each check reads the current register, and every result is logged with its date for your compliance record.

Why we ask for your company name

Our DMA list cleaner licence requires us to name each client in a monthly declaration. A live key needs the legal name of the business it screens for. Add it at tpsclear.co.uk/account, or let the agent set it with the set_company_name tool.

Questions

What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI agents use to call outside tools. Add the TPSClear MCP server to a client such as Claude Code or Cursor and the agent can screen numbers, check balances and buy credits itself, without you writing code against the REST API.

Which MCP clients does it work with?

Any client that connects to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. Claude on the web, desktop and mobile adds it as a custom connector and signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to paste. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf can sign in the same way or send an API key in the Authorization header.

Do AI voice agents need to screen against the TPS?

A person calling through a dialler is covered by regulation 21 of PECR, which is where TPS and CTPS screening comes in. A dialler playing recorded or generated speech is under regulation 19 and needs the subscriber's prior consent, TPS or not. Whether a conversational AI voice agent counts as recorded matter has not been tested; our article on AI cold callers sets out both readings.

How much does it cost?

The MCP server draws on the same prepaid packs as the REST API and Zapier. UK packs start at £9 for 1,000 checks and last 12 months. Australian washes and dead number checks have their own packs. Prices are on the pricing page.

Can I try it without paying?

Yes. A test key is free and screens against built-in fixtures, so you can connect the server and run screen_numbers before buying anything. Australian washes need a live key, as the register has no test mode.
