What you need

• An Etsy seller account with a shop.
• An AI assistant that supports remote connectors (MCP), such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex.
• A free ConnectMyShop account — you create it by signing in with Etsy.

Connect your AI

Claude (web, desktop or mobile)

1. Open Claude → Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Name it “ConnectMyShop” and paste https://connectmyshop.app/mcp.
3. Click Connect, sign in with Etsy (or your passkey), choose what Claude may do, and allow.
4. In a chat, turn ConnectMyShop on from the + menu.

ChatGPT and Codex

1. Open ConnectMyShop in ChatGPT’s app directory and click Connect. No link to paste. Prefer to add it yourself? Open chatgpt.com/plugins → Add → Create MCP App, name it ConnectMyShop and paste https://connectmyshop.app/mcp as the connection URL, then Create.
2. Sign in with Etsy (or your passkey), choose permissions, and allow.

Other assistants

Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth works: use https://connectmyshop.app/mcp. Your dashboard has one-click buttons for Cursor and VS Code.

Permissions

When an assistant connects, you choose what it may do. You can narrow these later in your dashboard under AI apps — no reconnecting needed.

• Read your shop, listings and inventory — always on.
• Suggest changes — edits, prices, new drafts and deactivation, each as a proposal you approve.
• Order summaries (optional) — items, totals and shipping status. Buyer names, addresses and contact details are never shared with AI assistants.
• Publishing (optional, off by default) — putting listings on sale, where Etsy’s listing fee may apply.

How approvals work

1. Your AI proposes a change. You see an approval card in the chat (and on your dashboard) with a before-and-after preview: changed words highlighted, tags added and removed, prices per variant.
2. Choose Approve once, Always approve that kind of change for that AI, or Decline.
3. On approval, ConnectMyShop applies the change on Etsy. If the listing was edited on Etsy after the preview, it is skipped instead of overwritten.

If the card doesn’t appear in your chat, your AI includes a direct link to the request on your dashboard. Requests expire after 24 hours.

Undo: finished edits, price changes and deactivations show an Undo button on your dashboard. Price changes are restored exactly from a backup. Undo always asks for approval first.

Automation: under Automation you can let all AIs apply certain change types without a card. Everything still appears in your history.

report_issue	Feedback	Send a bug report or feature request to the ConnectMyShop team, with your approval.
get_change_progress	Read (approval card)	Refreshes the approval card while a large change is prepared. Used by the card, not called by the AI.
decide_change	Approval card only	Records your Approve or Decline click on the card. The AI cannot call it.

Proposals never change Etsy on their own: they create a request that you approve, unless you turned on automation for that change type.

Things to try

• “Show me my draft listings and tell me which ones have fewer than 13 tags.”
• “Rewrite the titles of my five lowest-view listings for Etsy search, keeping each under 140 characters.”
• “Raise prices on all my sweatshirts by 10%, but only the 2XL and larger sizes.”
• “Add the tag “teacher gift” to every listing with “teacher” in the title.”
• “Undo the price change you made this morning.”

Limits

• Each shop has a daily limit of Etsy requests, which depends on the shop’s plan (100 a day on the Free plan, up to 5,000 a day). It resets at midnight UTC. When a shop reaches it, new requests from your AI wait until the reset; changes you already approved always finish.
• Up to 60 AI requests per minute per shop.
• Deleting listings needs the separate delete permission (off by default), and every delete needs your approval, even with automatic approval on. Publishing requires the separate publish permission.

Manage or disconnect

• AI apps tab: change an assistant’s permissions, turn off its automatic approvals, or disconnect it.
• Shop & security tab: update your Etsy access (for example turn order summaries on or off), add a passkey, disconnect your shop, or delete your account and data.
