Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor or another assistant to Teamhood. The assistant reads and changes your work through Teamhood’s own MCP server, as you, with your permissions.

What it is

Teamhood runs a remote server for the Model Context Protocol, MCP for short. MCP is the standard that assistants use to connect to tools. One address works for every organization: you sign in, approve the assistant, and it can read and change work in Teamhood as you.

Addresses

Connection address (every tool)https://api.teamhood.com/public/v1/mcp
Read-only addresshttps://api.teamhood.com/public/v1/mcp/readonly
TransportStreamable HTTP.
Sign-inOAuth sign-in in the browser. A personal token also works, sent in the X-Api-Key header or as Authorization: Bearer.

The v1 in the address is the version of the API path.

Connect an assistant

  1. In Teamhood, open Settings → Integrations → MCP and copy the connection address, or the read-only address.
  2. In your assistant, add a custom connector or a remote MCP server with that address.
  3. Sign in to Teamhood when the assistant asks, then select Allow.
Claude Codeclaude mcp add --transport http teamhood https://api.teamhood.com/public/v1/mcp, then claude mcp login teamhood
CursorIn .cursor/mcp.json: {"mcpServers": {"teamhood": {"url": "https://api.teamhood.com/public/v1/mcp"}}}
VS CodeIn .vscode/mcp.json: {"servers": {"teamhood": {"type": "http", "url": "https://api.teamhood.com/public/v1/mcp"}}}

Step by step: Connect an assistant with MCP.

Example prompts

  • “Turn these meeting notes into items under the Riverside Clinic project, assign owners and link the dependencies.”
  • “Log my week: 6 hours on the site survey Monday, 4 on drawings review Tuesday, 3 on the client call Wednesday.”
  • “What is overdue across our projects, and who owns each item?”
  • “Who has more planned hours than capacity next week, counting time off?”
  • “Invite ana@example.com to the Design team with the Collaborator role.”

Planned hours are the hours someone planned explicitly.

What an assistant can do

ItemsRead your item types and fields. Find, read, create, change and delete items. Link items that depend on each other. Read an item’s history.
Comments and timeRead, post, edit and delete comments. Read, log, correct and delete time.
People and workloadList people and teams. Read working hours, time off and planned hours.
Organization setupCreate and change item types, fields and teams. Invite people. When you approve the assistant, Teamhood shows what it asks for. If that list includes changes to the organization’s setup, the assistant gets these tools. A personal token gets them too.
Files and helpRead images and text files attached to items. Search the help pages.
Many at onceMost tools take up to 100 items, comments, time logs or dependencies in one call. A project and its tasks can be created in one request.

Every tool, with what it does: MCP server reference.

Permissions and safety

Acts as youThe assistant can do only what your role allows, and only in the organization you signed in to.
Read-only addressAn assistant connected to the read-only address is never offered a tool that changes anything, and can never ask for more.
Visible changesEach change shows in the item’s activity under your name with an AI label.
DeletesA deleted item goes to the trash and can be restored for 30 days.
Out of reachNo tool changes roles, views, automations or organization settings. A dependency the assistant adds does not reschedule items.
DisconnectDisconnect under Connected apps. The assistant loses access on its next request.
Rate limitCalls have a rate limit per organization. Each entry in a list counts as one call.

Teamhood skill

Assistants that load skills can use the Teamhood skill, a file of rules for working in Teamhood. The skill does not connect the assistant. See Add the Teamhood skill to an assistant.

FAQ

Is this Teamhood or Teamhood Classic?

Teamhood, the current product. Teamhood Classic has a REST API but no MCP server.

Do I need a paid plan?

The MCP server is part of the one Teamhood plan and of Enterprise. There is no separate AI add-on. The first month is free, with no credit card. See pricing.

Which assistants work with it?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code have setup entries in the help center.

Can I let an assistant only read?

Yes. Connect it to the read-only address. It then never gets a tool that changes data.

Can an assistant delete my data?

It can move items to the trash, where they stay for 30 days. It cannot delete item types or fields unless you approved it for setup changes or connected it with a personal token.
